  • Freshman Physical Education & Health

    Dates: Monday, June 22 – Friday, August 21
    Time: Weight Room is open Monday - Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    Scheduled Classroom Health Hours:   Monday, July 6-Friday, July 17 from 7:45 AM - 9:45 AM
    Fee:  $720

    Open to the Public:  Yes

    Student Advantage:  All freshmen are required to take Physical Education and Health. Academic and scheduling flexibility is the key advantage to this summer offering.

    Course Description: (Course 9150) 2.5 credits (60 hours total, divided into 40 hours of PE and 20 hours of classroom Health curriculum) Physical Education activities include: weight training, running, and team activities. Health provides information on health related problems facing society with emphasis on those areas of immediate importance to the student. Students will be required to complete 60 hours on an individually tailored schedule. There are boys’ lift and girls’ lift classes scheduled 3 times a week.
  • Physical Education (Grades 10-12)

    Dates: Monday, June 22 – Friday, August 21
    Time: Weight Room is open Monday - Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    Scheduled First Aid Classroom Hours: Monday, July 6-Friday, July 17 from 12:15 PM - 2:15 PM
    Fee: $720
    Credits: 2.5
    Students: Grades 10-12
    Pre-Requisites:  None
     
    Student Advantage: All students are required to take 15 credits of PE while attending Notre Dame High School. Students can take PE over the summer and earn 2.5 credits toward the PE requirement. This then frees up academic time during the school year to take other academic classes, including but not limited to electives, performing arts, required courses, and AP seminars.  Academic and scheduling flexibility is the key advantage to this summer offering.
    Course Description:  (Course 9450) 2.5 credits (60 hours)  Physical education activities will be tailored to each student’s schedule and may include such activities as:  weight training, running, and team activities. Students will be required to attend 60 hours on an individually tailored schedule.  Formal structured PE class activities are also a component of the summer program.
  • Physical Education & First Aid (Grades 10-12)

    Dates: Monday, June 22 – Friday, August 21
    Time: Weight Room is open from Monday - Friday 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.

    Course Description:
     (Course 9350) 2.5 credits (60 hours total, divided into 40 hours of PE and 20 hours of classroom First Aid curriculum) Physical Education activities include: weight training, running, and team activities. This course offers valuable skills as students become safety conscious and more capable of handling emergency situations.  There are boys’ lift and girls’ lift classes scheduled 3 times a week.

Drivers Ed

    Student Advantage: All students are required to take 15 credits of PE while attending Notre Dame High School. Students can take Drivers Education over the summer and earn 2.5 credits toward the PE requirement. Academic and scheduling flexibility is the key advantage to this summer offering.

    Course Description:
     2.5 credits (60 hours) This course is designed to produce safe, efficient and defensive drivers. Students will be graded on written tests, projects, quizzes and completion of the required state driver examination.
